This is the ENTRANCE GATE of IJEBU ODE LOCAL GOVERNMENT SECRETARIAT 🚪**THE LGA:****Land Mass**: 192 square kilometers - 192,000,000 sqm of Ijebuland**Headquarters**: ITORO, Ijebu-Ode. A historic convergence point for civic + traditional events.**HISTORY OF GOVERNANCE:****Before 1976**: Ruled as a centralized monarchy by the **AWUJALE OF IJEBU LAND** Supported by **OLORITUN MEDOGBON** - the 25 quarter heads + Osugbo and Ilamuren high chiefs who handled justice, welfare, and community order.**1976 Reform**: Modern LGA system created nationwide**First Chairman 1977**: **CHIEF VICTOR OLABISI ONABANJO** - Journalist, statesman, and future Ogun State Governor. Pioneer of the modern LGA format here. Preceded by colonial district setups and 1955 Ijebu Divisional Council under Joel Adeboye.**KING vs CHAIRMAN - THE DIFFERENCE:****Oba/Awujale**: Hereditary, life-long, custodian of culture, tradition, and spiritual peace.
